![]() ![]() Wireless microphone signal path tv#Sennheiser microphones are more widely used in TV programs just because Sennheiser give kickbacks to staffs in the TV stations who buy the microphones and they are better at advertising than Shure. Maybe I have to email an authorized dealer to get the price, which is too complex.īut Sennheiser EW100 G4 with 845 mic head(similar with Beta58) costs 6800RMB(961.66 US dollar).ĭefinitely, EW100 G4 is much worse than SKM6000. I cannot get the price of SKM6000 in the Internet. Shure QLXD/ULXD(they have the same sound quality but ULXD has wider switching bandwidth)has the same performance(sound quality) with SKM6000.Īnd it has the latency of 2.9ms which is shorter than 3ms or 3.2ms(in different modes) of SKM6000/9000.Īnd QLXD with Beta 58 costs 6600RMB(933.38 US dollar) in China(I can only get the prices of China) ThanksI think all Sennheiser microphones are not worthwhile but SKM6000 and SKM9000 Shure's here a quite a bit more expensive (sm58 and above anyway). It is quite expensive and I can get the new xsw 1 835 for a third of the price. I really want to get the sennheiser ew 100 g4 945. Where I am I am unable to test anything and was wanting opinions from those of you who have used these mic in live band situations. I have tired a line 6 and was really disappointed with it but I have read some good reviews on the shure and sennheiser mics. Now I realize I won't get the same sound quality but I have decided that I will purchase a wireless microphone and am having trouble in choosing which one to purchase. I currently use an Audix om7 and I love it but really want to go wireless as I have a great time going into the audience during gigs but the cable just gets in the way. I am the lead singer in a rock/pop covers band playing the kinks through to green day etc. I am on the lookout for a new wireless microphone. The hole in your wallet will sting until it arrives and you know you've got something that's pretty much going to work forever, and sound good doing it. IMO, buy the right thing first time around. The 935 capsule has surprised me on occasion by sounding fine even when the person talking has folded their arms, putting the mic just past their left shoulder. Sometimes the person talking knows what to do with a mic, other times they'll assume it's a Magic Totem Of Being Heard and forget that it's a tool that requires proper use. ![]() My mic gets used for live singers (1980s Disco Divas You Might've Heard Of were pleased with it) and lots of talking heads stuff. If there's line of sight between the mic and the receiver, you won't have a problem. IMO, the 935 capsule is a bit of a star, and the wireless system has been solid until I got really abusive by walking around a thick-stone-wall building until the signal dropped. Not long after they came out, I picked up a G4 EW100-935 set. Also leery of the EW100 series, the EW300 IEM's barely cut it for reception in large US cities, and that was with a booster/combiner and paddle antenna. Definitely don't recommend either option you've suggested. The e835 is cardioid, harsh, and fragile. I also like mine much better than Beta58's, but I'd take that over an e945 any day. I really dislike the e945 capsule compared to the OM5's and N/D767's (predecessor to ND76) that I own. If having to resort to the wired spare is something you really want to avoid, then rent a Shure rig with Beta58 capsule and give it a day in court. EV RE3 with ND76 system, plenty reliable and very similar capsule response, wired OM7 pretty reasonable spare Shure system with Beta58 capsule, plenty reliable and similar-ish capsule response, wired OM7 not ideal spare but not bad either Audix AP61 system which should be solid, wired OM7 makes a reliable drop-in spare But that limits your hypercardioid options to e945 or Beta58, both of which IMO fall well short of the OM7 or ND76 *at what the OM7 does best*. There are plenty of proven Sennheiser and Shure products, which of course I would recommend over untested gear from anyone. The shop that had them in their rental stock eventually replaced them with Shure but only to meet rider specs, never had issues with them. Same goes for Electro-Voice, though I've used predecessors to the RE3 with ND76 capsule, just not very much. But I would trust Audix over untested Sennheiser and Shure products any day. ![]() I haven't used any Audix wireless gear, and you may have trouble finding someone who has. There is the Audix AP61 system which has an OM7 capsule. ![]()
